After staying in bed as long as I could and giving the boys some breakfast I went to the computer and tried to catch up on some blog reading. As always one blog leads to many other blogs and before I know it the boys were hungry for some lunch. After feeding them, which by the way when did Isaiah become a vacuum, I decided to tackle all me little crafty projects that I had been putting off. After all I was freshly inspired and motivated after seeing so much blog candy. I got a frame repainted and made me a new makeup bag, which I still need to take take picture of and I made my layout out for the MME sketch challenge. Here is the sketch

I decided to go with a 8.5x11 layout.

My Mind's Eye: patterned paper, cardstock stickers and twine, American Crafts: thickers, Echo Park: alpha stickers, Crate Paper: label sticker and cardstock

Now if only I could be at my craft table on all my days off.
Nubiahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17236617174130843702noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3423477845355637500.post-20857669821489213132011-07-19T21:35:00.006-05:002011-07-19T22:04:49.505-05:00The boys are back
After a month of having some peace and quite, I again here feet running an mouths yelling through out my house. The boys get shipped off to their grandparents. It is something that both I and the boys look forward to. I get to enjoy a quite and semi clean house. They get to spend half the time with my parents where they have tons of cousins to play with, including my brothers kids.

Then they get to spend the other half with my in-laws where they have like 40 acres to run around on.
Now I do miss them, especially when it comes time to wash dishes or take out the trash. But it gives me plenty of time to catch up on my reading and of course scrap. And seeing as I have been trying to get back in the groove of things I decide to make this layout for the Paper Issues blog. It's a very easy challenge seeing as I have tons of guy pictures to choose from.

Basic Grey: patterned paper, cardstock sticker, KI: glitter letters, MME: ribbon, Maya Road: Maya mist & foil star sticker

Enjoy the rest of your week!
Nubiahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17236617174130843702noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3423477845355637500.post-26960695828392611492011-05-17T21:26:00.006-05:002011-05-17T22:00:35.198-05:00so random...
We had a nice little getaway this weekend out to see the family in Texas and I am still trying to recover. But I did say I would try to post more often.... First let me ask (for all my scrappy friends), have you ever started a layout that had so much potential and then it just went no where. Well this is that layout for me. I seriously have been working on it for five months. And since I am not one to start over I finally just decided to plop some journaling on it and call it a day. I was just tired of it sitting on my desk.

Basic Grey: patterned paper, Studio Calico: label sticker, Echo Park: label sticker, Making Memories: tiny alphas, Heidi Swapp: chipboard star & thread

Also today is my friend Carol's birthday so I thought I would post this fun card just for her.

<align="center">

Basic Grey: patterned paper and stickers & kraft cartdstock

<align="left">Have a great week everyone!
Nubiahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17236617174130843702noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3423477845355637500.post-9119778171271912622011-05-08T22:40:00.006-05:002011-05-08T23:03:55.429-05:00No need to check your eyesNo my friends, your eyes are not deceiving you, I am actually blogging. I realize that it has been months so I apologize to the few people that actually read my blog. The Posey house has been terribly busy plus the new job has taken more out of me then I expected. And so with all the everyday happenings scrapping got sent to the back burner, therefore I had nothing worth posting except for a few lines that facebook could handle. But I just had a great Mother's Day weekend that included a little scrapbook getaway. I must say it took me awhile to get the juices flowing but once I did I was cranking them out!
I will start out with a little George, because lets face it he's a hottie! I can't take credit for the pictures, they were "borrowed" from the Birmingham News website.

Echo Park: patterned paper & stickers, Studio Calico: stickers, cardstock, brad, ribbon

We did take a little time out during spring break and headed out to the Smokies with grandparents and had a blast.

Echo Park: patterned paper & stickers, American Crafts: thickers and a ticket

There was plenty more but I can't go showing it all, because then you people will be expecting such updates everytime. But I do promise not to have such a dryspell again, for my mental health sakes. Have a great week!
Nubiahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17236617174130843702noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3423477845355637500.post-77816880335405729782011-01-06T18:29:00.002-06:002011-01-06T18:35:57.090-06:00I hate to see it endI am sad that Croppin Paradise is not having a DT next year. The rest if the DT girls and I were very dissapointed. So for one last hurrah here is one of my favorite things about being on the dt and some of my favorite layouts.
One of my favorite things about being on the DT was of course getting to know lots of great new people and making great friends. But another thing that I love is the fact that a lot you helped me break out of my box a little and help expand my scrap booking style. For instance I find myself layering more and hand cutting. Simple hand cutting but who knows where that could lead, right!! I will say that it was a great honor to work next to a bunch of talented ladies and to have a great coordinator like Trish. I will miss working with y'all!

Nubiahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17236617174130843702noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3423477845355637500.post-90273933796835468592010-12-12T17:08:00.003-06:002010-12-12T17:13:51.434-06:00Have you been keeping up with all the great holiday ideas featured at the Croppin Paradise Christmas Bazaar. At least I have a good excuse. About a month and a half ago I started a new job. Even though I am glad to have more hours, seeing as it equals more money, it has really cut into my free time. Not much has happened since I last posted except for the fact that Trey and I celebrated 6th year anniversary and Preston turned 6 years old. For now I leave you with a couple of layouts seeing as I started this blog for scrappy purposes. But I couldn't figure out why seeing as they are usually gone for weeks at a time during the summer.
Then it hit me. The fact that I have no contact with him is what is killing me. I don't know how he is doing or if he is having fun or learning anything. When they are with their grandparents at least I can call and check up on them. But they are out in the middle of the woods, with shotly cell service I'm sure, not that he has a phone or could take it anyways.

Now don't get me wrong I know he is safe and having loads of fun but not being able to contact him just makes me feel a little empty. I am always checking my email seeing if there are any updates from the leaders and counting down the days till Saturday.
You wanna hear something funny, though. The day after he gets back both him and Preston will be on a plane to Dallas to spend time with my in-laws.... I know! I am beginning to see an advantage to keeping your children in your house till they are forty. Ha, just kidding.

On a brighter note I believe the 2 page bug hit me because I managed to make another one. I think I have posted more in the past couple of days then I have all month. It has been a somewhat rainy weekend here which has given me some time to be crafty. One thing I created was this cute make-up bag.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 267px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_4wBXMBYjfik/TAM67IT2k3I/AAAAAAAAAi4/5mLJmDPpoCw/s400/IMG_6778.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5477286359330100082" />
I was happy to know that some of my mom's sewing skills rubbed off on me. Now I just need to practice because I still have some improving to do.

Of course, fabric wasn't the only thing I was playing with. I got to play with some LYB Fresh Print.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 390px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_4wBXMBYjfik/TAM9mf61CqI/AAAAAAAAAjA/4Q_276GlXPU/s400/funny+faces.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5477289303425223330" />

And no your eyes are not deceiving you. Those are girls. I know it is rare to see on my blog. When I visited my parents earlier this month I made sure I can home with girly picture to scrap. Another line I got to play with was the MME Sophie's Charming line.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 309px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_4wBXMBYjfik/TAM_5Eky12I/AAAAAAAAAjI/Sb1_YZfC18k/s400/SCAN0008.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5477291821525817186" />

Now that is just two of the lines I got to use over at Croppin Paradise. But you will have to wait and see what else I got to use. Don't forget to also check out the blog. They are giving away some SEI for Memorial Day weekend.Nubiahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17236617174130843702noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3423477845355637500.post-51225313544628514582010-05-29T18:53:00.004-05:002010-05-29T19:18:49.589-05:00crafty weekend
I hope everyone is enjoying their Memorial Day weekend. The rain has been coming and going here so I have opted to stay inside and get my craft on. I have finished some scrapbook pages and played some with the sewing machine. That has been a bunch of trail and errors. One bad thing about getting it from my mom is that she didn't have the manual to give me because she never needed it. So I have been playing with it and I am surprised I haven't broken it yet. But I am working on a little project.

In other news, Preston has finally learned to ride his bike without training wheels.

My Little Shoebox: pattern paper and die cuts, American Crafts: thickers, KI: stickers,kraft cardstock, staples and ribbon.

He has been so excited and we just had to go get a "helement" right away. Although, I am thinking we might have to invest in knee and elbow pads because he has already taking several spills and the "helement" has not prevented scraps and bruises. Just one of the perks of being a boy.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
Nubiahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17236617174130843702noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3423477845355637500.post-67710909119082945412010-05-27T23:47:00.004-05:002010-05-28T00:03:46.175-05:00Class of 17<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 267px; height: 400px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_4wBXMBYjfik/S_9MjviRFaI/AAAAAAAAAh8/069Ni43ySFM/s400/IMG_6764.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5476179848845137314" />
School is officially out for summer!
